*Ship Electrical Equipment Engineer is a qualification for electrical installation work engineers established by the Japan Ship Electrical Equipment Association for employees belonging to member companies.
This qualification is for those who are mainly involved in on-site equipment construction (limited to construction and testing, etc.) and have the skills to directly supervise the workers who carry out the construction.
A chief ship electrician is mainly engaged in on-site installation work (limited to construction and testing, etc.), has the skills to directly supervise the workers who carry out the work, and is responsible for self-inspections.
